Susan from Suzoo’s Wool Works demonstrates traditional rug hooking at the Bandera Fiber & Arts Festival. Susan used wool including felted wool that is dyed and then cut into thin strips. Rug hooking has been popular in North America for the past 200 years.
Marti Swanson’s discovery of felting brings together a melding of passions from nature, sculpting, and playing with color. Always curious, she finds learning and experimenting to be a continual source of creative inspiration. Marti’s approach to teaching is to encourage students to explore and discover while having fun. The reward is in seeing the excitement of students as they challenge themselves and succeed.
